Estevao remains a doubt for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg tie against Arsenal due to personal reasons.
The Brazilian missed the 3-2 win over West Ham in the Premier League. Asked if he could be available for Arsenal, Rosenior said: “I don’t know yet. With Estevao, he’s a young kid who’s come and been magnificent.
“He’s going through a really difficult time for personal reasons and he’s on compassionate leave. I won’t put any pressure on him. It has to be right for him and he has to feel like he’s in the right place to perform for this team.”
Arsenal are 3-2 up in the tie after their first-leg win and Rosenior says he knows his side are up against it heading to the Emirates.
“The reality is Arsenal are favourites for the tie,” he said. “They’re a goal up and they’re at home, so they’ll expect to go through.
“We need to take it as far as we can and as deep as we can, and then the second half, hopefully, will be massive in terms of turning the tie around.”
Despite Chelsea’s squad being very young, they have experience winning trophies and being in big games, and their manager hopes they can draw on that experience in the second leg.
He added: “Enzo Fernandez has won a World Cup, as well as the group winning two trophies last year. They can play in big games. They can perform in big games. It’s definitely a big game on Tuesday.
“My concern is resting. It’s another three-game week. We need to recover. It’s going to be a really physical game on Tuesday and preparing the team as best I can for that game.”
Meanwhile, Jamie Gittens is also a doubt for the game after coming off with a hamstring problem against West Ham.
“Yeah, Jamie unfortunately felt his hamstring,” Rosenior said. “I don’t know the extent of the injury. It’s a real shame for him because I wanted to give him a start and I wanted him to show what he could do. so for him to come off after 25 minutes is disappointing for him and hopefully it’s not too bad.”
