Flamengo unveiled a new goalkeeper kit against Santos on Sunday at the Maracanã in the 10th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, with first-choice keeper Rossi wearing it.
The club said in a statement that the recent relaunch of their away identity was more than a name change, recognising a fanbase able to turn any stadium into an extension of the Maracanã.
Made by Adidas, the strip is entirely yellow, comprising shirt, shorts and socks. Three black shoulder stripes tie in with the colour of Flamengo’s badge and sponsors, while the numbers are in white.
The red and black home kit, known as Manto 1 and used by outfield players, debuted more than two months ago. Supporters now await the first outing of the traditional white shirt.
Flamengo have recently retired the previous Manto 2 from their official set. The away shirt has been renamed Manto 1 Branco.
