Flamengo beat Vitória 2-1 at Barradão, with Rossi, Royal and Cebolinha highlighted as the standouts. According to Globo.com, Rossi’s penalty save and Everton’s decisive goal defined the night.

Erick Pulgar opened the scoring, sweeping a fine strike into the top corner after Everton drew three markers then slipped him in.

Vitória levelled when Kayzer beat Evertton Araújo, the move beginning after Lucas Paquetá lost possession on the right.

At 1-1, Alex Sandro fouled Nathan Mendes to concede a penalty, but Rossi denied Kayzer from the spot. Léo Ortiz then delivered a precise free-kick from midfield for Everton to control and turn home, restoring Flamengo’s lead.

Defensively, Léo Pereira and Léo Ortiz were error prone, while Royal impressed with three vital interventions. Alex Sandro’s display was below par.

In midfield, Arrascaeta misplaced nine of 35 passes and looked short of rhythm. De la Cruz’s loose ball invited danger and Evertton Araújo lacked tempo.

Pedro worked hard pressing but service was scarce, with Plata adding intensity yet missing chances. Samuel Lino could not unsettle his flank and Bruno Henrique arrived too late to rate.

Head coach Filipe Luís oversaw an efficient win, although the team created little, struggled to press and often looked disconnected.
