Rotherham United have appointed former Sunderland and Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark as their new manager.
The club said in a statement that he has signed a deal running to the end of the 2025/26 season, describing the move as a short-term appointment.
The Millers are 22nd in League One, five points behind Blackpool with a game in hand, and lost 5-0 at Peterborough United on Tuesday, a defeat that prompted the exit of Matt Hamshaw.
Clark was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon and will be unveiled at a press conference tomorrow at AESSEAL New York Stadium. He will oversee his first match at league leaders Lincoln City this weekend.
The 53-year-old, born in Wallsend, has previously managed Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City, Blackpool and Kilmarnock, and most recently led Al-Merrikh in the Sudan Premier League. He returns to English club management with Rotherham fighting to preserve their League One status.
