Ruben Amorim has no plans to return to Portuguese football, his agency AS1 Sports said in a statement. The decision was taken long ago to continue his career abroad and there have been no meetings with Portuguese clubs about roles, structure, squads, salaries or anything else.
The statement described anything beyond that as mere speculation with no grounding in reality.

Amorim has been out of work since leaving Manchester United at the start of the year after a brief spell in charge.
His stint at the English club lasted a little over one season.
Recent links to Benfica in Portugal prompted the move to clarify his position.
