Ruben Amorim says the 'Free Kobbie Mainoo' T-shirt worn by the midfielder’s half-brother will not influence his playing time at Manchester United.

L'Équipe reports that Jordan Mainoo-Hames appeared pitchside at Old Trafford during Monday’s 4-4 draw with Bournemouth wearing a shirt reading 'Free Kobbie Mainoo', protesting at the 20-year-old’s limited minutes.

Speaking at a news conference, the Portuguese said it was not Kobbie who wore it, and the shirt would neither earn him a start nor put him on the bench. He said Mainoo would play only if they considered him the right option and he would not punish him for a relative’s actions.

In his third professional season, the academy graduate has made 12 appearances this term for a total of 302 minutes. He is a 10-cap England international.

His only start came in the League Cup against Grimsby Town, a 2-2 draw lost 11-12 on penalties, a humiliation for United.
