Ruben Amorim wants Real Madrid forward Endrick at AC Milan | OneFootball

AC Milan are already considering squad additions as they look to finish in the top four and return to the Champions League under head coach Ruben Amorim.

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri have Real Madrid’s Endrick at the top of their transfer shortlist. He is the main target for Amorim and club chairman Gerry Cardinale.

Endrick can shine as one of the inside forwards in Amorim’s signature 3-4-2-1 set-up. Amorim also used a conventional 4-3-3 in the win over Lecce, where Endrick can also fit in.

Milan did not bring in a marquee forward to replace Rafael Leao this summer, and Endrick is a potentially excellent pick-up for the seven-time Champions League winners.

The Brazilian caught the eye during his explosive spell in Lyon but continues to be neglected at Madrid, where he has fallen down the pecking order.

Carlos Espi and Kylian Mbappe have taken the centre-forward berth while Yan Diomande and Brahim Diaz start on the right side of the attack, leaving Endrick out in the cold.

Several clubs wanted the 20-year-old after his exciting Lyon stint, where he bagged eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances.

He was bent on making it at Madrid, but with no headway under Jose Mourinho, he should be considering his options.

Milan have a great relationship with Madrid. The Serie A side helped develop Diaz for multiple seasons. They could pull the same move for Endrick, and it would suit all parties.

Milan won’t be the only club in the race for his signature. Roma are also interested, while Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal looked his way some time ago.

Liverpool could also use his profile to replace Mohamed Salah.

Endrick is desperate to prove he belongs at Real Madrid, but he may now have to accept that his best route to the top is away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

He cannot afford to spend another season watching opportunities pass him by, particularly after showing his quality during his spell in Lyon.

If Madrid cannot offer him a genuine pathway into the first team, another loan move could be the smartest solution.

Endrick needs regular football, responsibility and the chance to prove his mettle, and Milan could provide the perfect platform for him to do exactly that.
