Rubén Iranzo has joined Real Zaragoza in recent days. The defender ends a 15-season stay at Valencia and marked his exit with an emotional farewell video.

The player said in a post that he is closing a very important chapter at the club where he grew up and which he regards as the club of his life. He arrived as a child dreaming of wearing the shirt and playing at Mestalla, and leaves with his heart full after realising that dream, having debuted in Primera División and defended the badge.

The video opens with images from his academy years, charting his rise through Valencia’s youth set-up. He captained age-group sides and progressed to the first team under José Bordalás, making his debut in a derby against Levante UD.

He thanked team-mates, club staff and, above all, the fans. He takes lifelong friends with him and values learned at the club that will guide him on and off the pitch.

Iranzo signed off by crediting Valencia for shaping him.
