Germany sporting director Rudi Voller confirmed Jurgen Klopp will abandon the experimental 44-man call-up and revert to a streamlined squad for November's internationals.

"November is when it counts, then we will see Jurgen's condensed squad. There won't be 44 players invited anymore," he told Bild am Sonntag.

Klopp split his pool into two separate squads across four Nations League fixtures, starting with an initial 24-man group then a subsequent 20-man selection, a short-term audition to assess options.

"The current group is not set in stone either." Overlooked players include Angelo Stiller, Deniz Undav, Maximilian Beier and Leroy Sane.

"That's just how it is in professional football. Sometimes you don't get selected, and you have to deal with it and prove yourself."

Despite criticism after the shock home defeat by Greece, Klopp remains committed to the rotation plan. Germany host Serbia, then travel to Greece in the Nations League, leaving fringe players a final audition before November cuts.
