Ruesha Littlejohn could be serving an extended suspension following the midfielder's red card in Crystal Palace's 3-0 win away to Leicester City on Sunday.
Tempers flared up following a foul on a Leicester player Olivia McLoughlin with Littlejohn and Hannah Cain then getting involved.
Littlejohn then put Cain in a headlock before tripping over downed McLaughlin which turned into what looked like a nasty judo throw that ended up with Cain landing on her head. The Republic of Ireland international was then sent off by referee Alice Parker with the Eagles side still going on to win.
It is now expected that the FA will review the incident and hand the 35-year-old an extended ban.
Littlejohn has had a lengthy and nomadic career having previously played for the likes of Glasgow City, Liverpool, Shamrock Rovers, London Bees, and Norwegian side Sandviken.
That result did mean that WSL 2 side Palace went on to top Group D ahead of top flight sides London City Lionesses (another one of Littlejohn's former clubs) and Leicester and they will progress to the knock-out stage.
