Ruesha Littlejohn has been handed a five-match ban after her red card judo-throw style incident with Leicester City's Hannah Cain.
The incident happened in Palace's 3-0 win over the WSL side when, following a foul on Olivia McLoughlin, Littlejohn had Cain in a headlock.
It appeared that Littlejohn then tripped but while keeping her arm around her opponent ended up throwing her head-first into the ground. As a result, Littlejohn's initial three-match ban for violent conduct has been extended to five.
Speaking about the incident while on international duty with the Republic of Ireland, Littlejohn told the press: "Obviously I regret letting my emotions spill over on the pitch, I'm quite an emotional person and player.
"That's not who I want to be on the pitch, so I will learn from it and move forward."
Littlejohn's suspension isn't likely to make a big change to Crystal Palace on the pitch though with the 35-year-old having only made two substitute appearances in WSL 2 so far this season.
