The Gleison Bremer injury prompted suggestions Juventus could recall Daniele Rugani from his loan early, but his agent assures he’ll ‘continue at Ajax.’
Bremer tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and was ruled out for the rest of the season, leaving the Bianconeri short-staffed at the back.
While there is the option of going back on the market in the January transfer window, it is also true that they already own a centre-back in Rugani.
He moved to Ajax on loan without an option to buy, so a recall mid-season is entirely possible.
“I honestly think that Rugani will continue his adventure at Ajax,” agent Davide Torchia told Juventusnews24.
“I don’t think that bringing Daniele back early is something that Juventus are going for, not just on a technical level, but because they have different ideas.”
Rugani does not fit with the tactical ideas of current coach Thiago Motta, making the decision to extend his contract a potentially costly one.
His current deal with the Bianconeri runs to June 2026.
Since making the transfer to Ajax on loan, the 30-year-old central defender has made three competitive appearances for a total 65 minutes of football.
