Rui Costa 'agrees' verbal deal with Benfica target Marco Silva | OneFootball

talkSPORT reports Rui Costa’s Benfica and Marco Silva have reached a verbal agreement, with claims emerging on Wednesday, 27 May.

The same outlet adds the agreement is complete and that the Portuguese coach has started building a home on the outskirts of Lisbon. It also says Benfica would pay around 4.6 million euros per year.

talkSPORT frames the move as securing a successor amid the imminent departure of José Mourinho, who is awaiting the outcome of Real Madrid’s elections between Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme.

talkSPORT also says Fulham now expect a decision from Marco Silva by the end of the month, noting he has yet to give a final answer. The 48-year-old has led the English club since 2021 across five seasons.

Meanwhile, Record writes that Marco Silva is in Lisbon and has begun talks with Benfica. It did not confirm any agreement on salary.
