The Portuguese whistleblower was detained in Budapest in January 2019 under a European arrest warrant. He was sought by the Portuguese authorities on suspicion of attempted extortion, breach of secrecy and unlawful access to computer systems.

He was extradited to Portugal in March that year and placed in custody, then faced several court cases. The cases related to Football Leaks, which involved disclosing documents linked to international football and left a negative impact on Benfica.

His latest post, naming Benfica, has stirred curiosity and debate on social media. It offered no further detail but pushed him back into the spotlight.
