Michael Olise has taken another significant step forward in his development at Bayern Munich this season, racking up an impressive 19 goals and 29 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.

The Frenchman's standout performances have sparked speculation over whether a summer move away from Bayern could be on the cards.

However, Bayern have consistently made it clear that their star attacker isn't for sale, and supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now reiterated that stance in an interview with t-online.de.

Asked whether a €200 million offer could convince Bayern to sell Olise, Rummenigge pointed back to a time when the club rejected a bid for Franck Ribéry from Chelsea – an episode that set a precedent for how Bayern have handled interest in their top players ever since.

“In 2009, we received an incredible offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribéry. At the time, it would have been a new world transfer record. I then went to our then CFO Karl Hopfner and Uli Hoeneß. We discussed for two hours what to do with that offer,” Rummenigge explained.

"On that day, we made a fundamental decision: that in the future, we would no longer sell any player whom we would miss from a sporting perspective. And that unwritten rule still applies today. For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us flinch."

Rummenigge himself is a big fan of the Frenchman and his qualities.

“He is a wonderful player. I also like the fact that he is so reserved and almost media-shy. That is the exception in today’s world. He is a good guy, and on the pitch he is of course outstanding, the way he celebrates football and almost performs magic. That is why it doesn’t surprise me that he is so incredibly popular and hyped among our fans," said the Bayern chief.
