Leon Goretzka continues to be the focus of transfer rumors at FC Bayern. Now there are indications from Turkey of a surprising destination for the international.

Turkish top-flight club Fenerbahçe are apparently interested in the German record champions‘ midfielder. According to the portal Sports Digitale, coach Domenico Tedesco is specifically looking for a central player with Goretzka’s profile and has his eye on the 30-year-old. Meanwhile, talks are already underway with Tottenham Hotspur in the background if the Munich club agree to a move in January.

It had previously been reported that Atlético Madrid and SSC Napoli were also interested in Goretzka alongside Tottenham. According to TUTTOMercato, the Italians see him as a potential key figure for their midfield center. Although no concrete offers have been made so far, international interest in the Bayern professional is growing noticeably.

Bayern officials remain hesitant

The record champions do not appear to be taking the decision lightly, with several media outlets reporting that the club’s management are hesitant to release him. Goretzka still has a contract until the summer of 2026 and is considered an experienced character within the team – even if he has lost his starting place to Aleksandar Pavlović this season. Goretzka is still considered the first option off the bench, but Munich can only generate a transfer fee for the German international in January.

For Goretzka himself, the focus remains on playing minutes. With an eye on the 2026 World Cup, he does not want to take any risks. Should a suitable solution arise, both in sporting and contractual terms, a winter transfer could be attractive for both sides. According to AS, a new contract model with reduced wages would even be conceivable, similar to Serge Gnabry.

A departure in January therefore remains a realistic option. The talks with Tottenham, supplemented by the newly sparked interest from Istanbul, are now increasing the pressure on those responsible at Säbener Straße.
