Rumours around Bensebaini: row with Algeria coach? | OneFootball

Ramy Bensebaini is currently at the center of speculation surrounding the Algerian national team. However, reports of an alleged dispute with head coach Ibrahim Hamdani and a possible withdrawal by the BVB defender have not been confirmed.

After Algeria’s 2-2 draw against Burundi, rumors spread on social media that Bensebaini had clashed with Hamdani. African football journalist Dean Ammi revealed on X that Bensebaini had identified a “lack of professionalism” under Hamdani’s leadership and wanted to leave the Algerian camp without returning as long as Hamdani remained coach.

It was also reported that the BVB defender had already wanted to end his international career after the World Cup elimination against Switzerland.

Bensebaini still in Algeria camp

However, the latest developments point against such a conflict between Bensebaini and his coach. As YS Scores reports, citing sources close to the Algerian national team, Bensebaini remains in the training camp and is continuing the program as normal. According to the report, there was also no dispute with Hamdani.

Bensebaini arrived late to the September training camp together with Anis Hadj Moussa. Both had been granted permission to do so for personal and family reasons respectively. The BVB professional then took part in training as usual and started both against Zambia and Burundi.

Meanwhile, another incident within the Algerian team had sparked additional speculation. Manchester City defender Rayan Aït-Nouri had left the camp early after an incident with Hamdani during the match against Zambia. This incident further fueled the rumors surrounding Bensebaini.

Bensebaini therefore remains part of the Algerian national team for the time being. Following the 2-2 draw against Burundi, Algeria’s next fixture is a friendly against Niger. Whether the Dortmund player will feature remains unclear.
