RWDM have announced the signing of Malian left-back Youssouf Koné from Olympique Lyonnais. The 28-year-old defender has signed a deal with the club that will run until 2024. Koné spent last season on loan at AC Ajaccio, where he made 13 appearances. Prior to that, he has had loan spells with Troyes, Hatayspor and Elche. In all, the defender played just 16 games for Lyon.

Koné began his career in Europe with Lille, with a brief loan spell on loan at Reims during the 2017/2018 season. After playing 23 games for Lille following his return from Reims, the defender moved to Lyon in the summer of 2019. The defender has also been capped by Mali nine times, scoring one goal.
