Ryan Mason lasted just 27 games in charge of West Brom before being sacked in January
Ryan Mason’s appointment at West Brom didn’t prove successful as he lasted just six months in charge of the club.
The 34-year-old’s only previous managerial experience came as an interim boss at Tottenham Hotspur, where he oversaw six wins from 13 games across two separate stints.
He also worked as a coach for the Premier League side under the likes of Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou, playing a role in their 2025 Europa League triumph.
However, he was only able to oversee nine wins from 27 games as West Brom head coach, which led to his dismissal in January.
The Baggies have continued to struggle in his absence, with his replacement Eric Ramsay lasting just 44 days before he was also sacked.
Meanwhile, Spurs have declined even further since Mason left in the summer, with the team at risk of relegation to the Championship.

It has been reported by Football Insider that Mason has emerged as an option at Spurs to replace the under-pressure Igor Tudor.
The former midfielder has experience working with the London outfit, and he is a front-runner to be chosen as the next manager if a change in the dugout is made.
Tudor was appointed to the end of the campaign when Thomas Frank was sacked in February, but he has so far lost each of his four games with the club.
A 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night has ramped up the speculation surrounding his future even further.
The decision to drop Guglielmo Vicario backfired when his replacement Antonin Kinsky was at fault for the first and third goals, leading to his 17th minute substitution.
It’s believed that Mason would be brought in for the remainder of the campaign, with a longer-term decision being left until the summer.
The Premier League side are fighting for their place in the division, with just one point separating them from the relegation zone with only nine games to go.
Spurs have lost their last five league games in a row, and have not won a game since their 2-0 victory of Eintracht Frankfurt on 28 January, with their last league victory coming on 28 December.
Meanwhile, West Brom are also in danger of getting relegated, with James Morrison now in charge on an interim basis.
Next up for Albion is a home clash against Southampton this evening in a 7.45pm kick-off.

Mason didn’t impress during his time at West Brom, with the team proving too toothless in attack to get consistent results.
Supporters will know just how big of a gamble it would be for Spurs to entrust the 34-year-old with their relegation battle.
Tudor has been a disastrous appointment, and the 5-2 defeat on Tuesday was just the latest in a series of humiliations.
But there are no guarantees that Mason will be able to turn things around, as his stint in charge of West Brom in the Championship this season indicated that he is not ready to be managing in the Premier League.
