Wrexham are lining up a club-record move for Lyon midfielder Pavel Sulc before the summer window closes, according to Wales Online. A deal is reportedly being worked on that would surpass their existing record.
With just over a week remaining, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has become their leading target after drawing interest from Everton and Aston Villa, with Leeds United also linked. Juventus have also made contact.
Lyon are said to have previously sought as much as £35 million for the 24-cap Czechia international, the 2025 Czech Footballer of the Year. Such a fee would more than quadruple Wrexham’s current record and eclipse the Championship benchmark, set this month when West Ham paid £22 million for Arne Engels.
Phil Parkinson’s side, who narrowly missed the 2025/26 play-offs, have shifted from last summer’s 13 signings to a focus on quality. This window has brought Crystal Palace defender Danny Imray and Preston North End captain Ben Whiteman, plus Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson in a £eight million deal.
Reynolds and Rob McElhenney flew in for the opening home match, a 1-1 draw with Watford. Before kick-off they met Parkinson and senior staff to discuss the remainder of the window.
At full time the manager said they are working on several options after that pre-match meeting, but there are no guarantees because they are competing for difference-makers pursued by leading clubs in England and across Europe. He added they know the positions they want and, if targets do not arrive, injured players are due back.
