It was a memorable evening for Reading’s Tyrese Fornah last night as the Nottingham Forest loanee notched a last-gasp winner as the Royals downed Rotherham 2-1.

The central midfielder converted Andy Carroll’s nod-down to seal a vital three points for Paul Ince’s Royals who were drifting down the Championship table at an alarming rate, amid a dodgy patch of form.

For Fornah, it was his second ever professional goal and a big moment for the 23-year-old as he shared his thoughts after the game on his personal Instagram page.

The 23-year-old has recently admitted he is open to staying at Reading in the future with his loan spell set to expire in the summer and his contribution last night will have certainly heightened his chances of sealing a fresh deal at the SCL Stadium.

He is still contracted to Nottingham Forest though, and several current Reds players made their feelings known after Fornah’s big moment, with Ryan Yates and Jonathan Panzo among those to showcase their feelings towards the player.

After the match, Fornah elaborated and said via the official site: “It was quite an emotional moment, scoring that late winner,” Tyrese said. “I think I shed a tear!

“I’m just really glad to get the winner for this club. Just to be out there scoring goals in the Championship; that’s what I dreamt of as a kid. It’s a dream come true to be scoring goals as a midfielder.

“It’s a big moment for me. That’s what I want to be doing every week, but it’s not been happening as regularly as I’d like. I believe in myself and I’m always positive. Whether I start or not, I hope that my ability shines through on the pitch. Hopefully now I can be trusted to start more games week in, week out.

“And I hope this result kickstarts our campaign in the Championship from now until the end of the season.”
