Alexis Saelemaekers discussed his future while away on international duty with the Belgian national team.
The winger recently concluded his loan at Roma and is now set to return to Milan, as Roma failed to reach an agreement for his permanent stay.
“It was a good season, I’m very satisfied. The loan to Roma is over, so we have to see what the near future holds,” Saelemaekers told reporters.
On whether Allegri’s presence at Milan would change anything for him, the Belgian replied, “I haven’t had any contact with the new coach yet.”
“I’ve always liked playing for Milan, I felt good there. The most important thing for me now is to find a project where I can grow further and where I can play. Where this will happen, we’ll see soon.”
“Starting over again is not easy,” said Saelemaekers when asked about his future and the difficulty of playing on loan several times over.
“It helps me discover new tactics and play in different roles. It was important but sometimes you have to know how to build a certain continuity, that’s why my choice will be important in the future.”
