With just a few hours to go until Sunday’s Roma-Milan clash at the Olimpico, Massimiliano Allegri can be happy with the return of Alexis Saelemaekers.
After suffering a muscle problem in the last match against Lecce, the Belgian winger appears to have fully recovered.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on Sky Sport, Saelemaekers participated regularly in training with the rest of the team, thus demonstrating his readiness for a return to the field. He will therefore be called up for the match at the Olimpico.
Despite his recovery, AC Milan coach Allegri may still wait until tomorrow’s training session to fully assess the former Anderlecht player’s fitness and determine whether he’ll be fit to start against Roma.
If he’s out, Athekame is expected to replace Saelemaekers on the right. Alternatively, Allegri could move Bartesaghi to the right with Estupinan on the left, or deploy Loftus-Cheek on the flank.
