At the end of May, Newcastle United had clear plans on how the transfer window would proceed.
However, having followed the Toon for more years than I care to remember…
Experience tells me that we usually find, nothing ever runs as smoothly as you hope it will.
Having said that, the ride has not always been this rough.
There is no doubt we are now in a far better place than we were four months ago.
Whilst at the same time accepting that we would have preferred not to be without one or two of the Newcastle United squad who we have lost!
Eddie Howe now has serious competition for every position.
Sadly, as things move on, we have lost some who have been good servants to the club, such as Sean Longstaff.
Newcastle United have also maximised profits from those who were no longer committed to taking the club forward.
There was that guy who went to Liverpool, sorry, but I can’t quite recall his name…
Now that the turmoil has passed, I am sure that Eddie and his team will make this a season to remember.
