According to Meu Timao, SAFiel, which backs Corinthians adopting a Sociedade Anônima de Futebol, will unveil phase two of its project, SAFiel 2.0, on seven April, with the venue still to be announced.
The revamp follows months of listening sessions with supporters, members, councillors and organised groups, aimed at making the proposal broader, more participative and aligned with the fanbase.
It promises greater democratisation and a closer fit to the club’s reality, incorporating feedback gathered. The initiative seeks to advance debate on a possible SAF at Parque São Jorge, an issue that remains divisive.
In January, SAFiel offered to settle the arena financing debt with Caixa and the FIFA transfer ban over the Félix Torres case. Deliberative Council president Romeu Tuma Júnior rejected the proposal, and the club later paid to lift the ban.
In February, Corinthians filed a case with the INPI over SAFiel’s use of the word Fiel, escalating the legal and political dispute around the initiative.
The Deliberative Council has created a technical group to study Law 14.193/2021 and potential adoption, assess tax reform in Congress, update the club’s debt and map options to reduce it.
SAFiel presents an open, collective plan targeting structural change without losing Corinthians’ popular identity, professionalising football, reorganising finances, tackling Neo Química Arena liabilities and embedding modern governance with effective fan participation.
It proposes keeping the social club autonomous while moving the men’s, women’s and academy football into a company run to market standards with independent oversight and audits.
