Paris Saint-Germain won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, Matveï Safonov delivering a superb clean sheet as Bradley Barcola added a spectacular strike.
L'Équipe highlights Safonov's string of decisive saves and Barcola's finish from distance as central to a composed away display.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring on six minutes, punishing Mamadou Sarr's heavy touch to beat Robert Sanchez, after Safonov's long ball had unsettled the defender.
Vitinha's press regained possession before Achraf Hakimi teed up Barcola to curl into the top corner on 14. Barcola later passed up one-on-ones on 33 and 43, Sanchez saving the latter.
Chelsea had their moments, Cole Palmer forcing a fine stop from Safonov on 42 and the keeper denying more efforts either side of the interval. Sarr was withdrawn at half-time, while Trevoh Chalobah was slow to react on the second and third goals.
Senny Mayulu, on for J. Neves at the break, sealed it with a crisp strike on 62. Luis Enrique's tweaks, with Marquinhos tracking Enzo Fernandez and J. Neves shadowing Palmer, paid off, and early changes protected Nuno Mendes and Kvaratskhelia from suspension for the quarter-final first leg in Europe.
