Anass Salah-Eddine was close to joining Cagliari.
However, the Sardinian club decided to walk away from the negotiating table, despite a close agreement with Roma, because the Dutch full-back had put the Rossoblu option on hold.
Indeed, the 2002-born defender, who arrived in the capital in January but never fully realized, had dreamed of returning to his homeland.
Torino and Werder Bremen had also launched inquiries about the former Twente and Ajax player, but nothing has come of it yet.
As reported by the Dutch newspaper ed.nl, PSV has shown interest in bringing the Giallorossi full-back back to the Netherlands, despite the fact that in January he had preferred to move to Italy over the Eindhoven club.
The departures would free up Roma’s transfer market.
