Liverpool entertained Newcastle United at Anfield earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a slow start to the game and conceded the opener in the 36th minute when Anthony Gordon found the back of the net. However, Hugo Ekitike equalised for the Merseyside club just five minutes later before giving them the lead in the 43rd minute. Arne Slot’s men were leading 2-1 at the half-time break.

Florian Wirtz put daylight between the two sides in the 67th minute before Ibrahima Konate added another goal in injury time. The match ended with Liverpool securing a dominant 4-1 win at Anfield.
