Serie A teams are approaching the January transfer window to strengthen their positions and chase their Scudetto dreams.

Among them is Roma, which more realistically hopes to even return to the Champions League.

The Giallorossi, La Repubblica reports, are dreaming big: they’re thinking about Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian superstar has had a falling out with Liverpool, and a return to the capital, where he played from 2015 to 2017, would certainly be romantic.

In the summer of 2017, the 1992-born player joined the English club from Roma for a total of €42 million. However, there are several reasons that make the move impossible at this point in time.

Salah earns around €24 million at Liverpool, a figure out of reach for any Italian club.

Furthermore, the Liverpool striker is a non-EU citizen, and the Roman club doesn’t have the slots to sign him.

With the arrival of Leon Bailey, Roma has used the last available slot reserved for non-European players.
