Liverpool duo Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk have finally broken their silence in the dressing room following the controversy sparked by Mohamed Salah's statements and the difficult situation the Egyptian star is facing at the club.

Although their responses took different approaches, both aimed at the same goal: easing tensions and maintaining the unity of the squad.

Robertson: "Salah is one of the greatest players in the club's history"

Andrew Robertson offered clear support to Salah, highlighting the strength of their relationship both on and off the pitch. After the Reds' victory over the Nerazzurri, he stated:

"Everyone knows this is not an easy period for Mohamed. In my eyes, he's one of the greatest players ever to play for Liverpool. We've shared many successful years together, and this situation will be handled internally."

He continued: "I love playing alongside him and I hope he stays with us. The most important thing is the unity of the group, and you could see that on the pitch."

Van Dijk: "This crisis isn't about just one player"

Virgil van Dijk, the Reds' captain, took a measured tone, emphasizing the collective nature of the team: "The situation with Mohamed is a bit complex, but it's not just about him. We're going through this phase together. Salah's absence is a reality, but our relationships within the squad remain excellent."

Asked by Amazon Prime if Salah needed to apologize, van Dijk replied: "I'm not the one to decide who should apologize. Mohamed has expressed how he feels, and the club is handling the situation."

He added: "I've known him for years and we're close. What is said on the outside doesn't concern us. The most important thing is to talk things through together and resolve them in the dressing room."

Finally, he concluded: "We need to get our energy back and prepare well for the match against Brighton. The win is important, but we can't get carried away. Balance is essential."
