Salem Al-Dawsari back in Al-Hilal training ahead of Al-Ittihad Clasico | OneFootball

Salem Al-Dawsari has returned to Al-Hilal group training after three months out, days before the Al-Ittihad Clasico. The club captain is back with the squad.

Al-Hilal host Al-Ittihad on 10 October at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, the standout tie of the eighth round of the Roshn League. As reported by Goal.com, the club shared a photo of Al-Dawsari training nine days before kick-off.

He has not featured since the start of the season after undergoing surgery on an injury sustained with Saudi Arabia at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

He returns to increased competition on the left, with Dutchman Crysencio Summerville and Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli brought in to strengthen that area.

Al-Dawsari was first choice on the left last season, though his form has dipped since Italian coach Simone Inzaghi took charge.

Al-Hilal enter the Clasico looking to stay top, on 18 points, one ahead of Al-Ittihad, known as "the Dean".
