Saliba avoids surgery but he will be out for a long time

William Saliba will not undergo surgery to repair his injured back, but the defender is expected to remain out of action for an extended period while he recovers from a problem that has affected him since last season, according to ESPN.

The Frenchman played the second half of last season while dealing with persistent back pain and continued despite the discomfort, helping Arsenal become Premier League champions. His determination allowed him to remain available during an important period, although the injury continued to affect his condition.

Because the World Cup began almost immediately after the season ended, Saliba did not have enough time to recover properly before representing France.
