Strasbourg duo Samir El Mourabet and Gessime Yassine have received their first Morocco call-ups after being named on Thursday. Le Progres reports that the pair were selected for the senior squad.
Both are 20 and are expected to add fresh options in attack for the Atlas Lions, who were declared African champions by administrative ruling on Tuesday.
El Mourabet, a Strasbourg academy product, has featured in 35 matches in all competitions this season, scoring one and providing two assists. He also has nine caps at Morocco U20 level.
Yassine arrived in Alsace in winter from Dunkerque in Ligue 2, where he had impressed. He has only seen brief action for Racing so far, but could quickly grow in stature with Gary O'Neil’s men.
LOSC midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi was not called up as he had not completed all administrative details to join the squad. Morocco face Ecuador on Friday 27 March and Paraguay on 31 March.
