The third round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A put coaches under the microscope and sent clips viral. According to Globo.com, Tite at Cruzeiro and Fernando Diniz at Vasco are taking it a day at a time, while Neymar and Lucho Acosta dominated the chatter. Juan Carlos Osório is hardly enjoying affection either.
At the Maracanã, 1.6m Lucho Acosta delivered a sublime winner for Fluminense against Botafogo, lifting the ball over the Botafogo goalkeeper after a Neto rebound then heading in. Botafogo slipped to a fourth straight defeat of the season, and coach Anselmi told reporters the club cannot sell any more players.
Mirassol 2-2 Cruzeiro brought late disorder. Tite remains winless after three matches, and Cassio appeared genuinely delighted during the manager’s post-match address. Cruzeiro midfielder Kenji left in tears after a heavy challenge by Mirassol’s Yuri Lara, with a serious injury suspected and VAR audio suggesting a broken leg.
Athletico-PR overcame Santos in Curitiba, yet the flawed Arena da Baixada surface drew censure from scorer Thaciano and from Neymar, as it did from many viewers. Elsewhere in Salvador, Flamengo finally posted their first top-flight victory, beating Vitória at the Barradão with Rossi saving a penalty.
There was also a thunderous strike from Luciano Juba and boos aimed at Fernando Diniz. Atlético-MG’s faltering start continued, and after a 3-3 draw with Remo the club confirmed Jorge Sampaoli’s departure, leaving with two wins in 10 matches in 2026.
