Sampdoria are keen on signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Filip Stankovic and striker Francesco Pio Esposito this summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. The outlet report that the names came up in a meeting today between directors of the two clubs.

Sampdoria Sporting Director Pietro Accardi was at Inter headquarters today.

The Blucerchiati executive discussed the names of a few different players with Inter’s sporting staff.

One name that certainly came up was that of Sampdoria defender Giovanni Leoni.

Inter want to sign the teenage defender, Reportedly, they would be keen to sign the 17-year-old from Sampdoria this summer, and then loan him back to the Ligurian club for a season.

Therefore, part of the purpose of the meeting with Accardi was to discuss the prospects of a deal for Leoni.

But Sky report that there were also a couple of young Inter players who Sampdoria are interested in.

Sampdoria Keen On Inter Duo Stankovic & Pio Esposito

One player whose name certainly came up in the talks, reports Sky, is Filip Stankovic.

The Inter goalkeeper spent last season on loan with Sampdoria.

However, the Blucerchiati are hoping to bring Stankovic back for another season.

Therefore, the executives of the two clubs spent some time in talks regarding a possible deal for the 22-year-old.

Meanwhile, another player had also spent last season on loan at Sampdoria from Inter. That is striker Sebastiano Esposito.

Esposito will not be returning to the Marassi next season. Rather, he is close to joining Empoli.

However, Sky reports, Sampdoria do have an interest in bringing in the 22-year-old’s brother, Francesco Pio Esposito.

The 18-year-old spent last season on loan with Spezia.

And there is no shortage of interest in Pio Esposito this summer. Torino, in particular, are keen to bring the teenage striker to Serie A for his first experience in the top flight.

But Sampdoria have also thrown their hat into the ring as far as bringing Pio Esposito in this summer.
