Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reports that Samsunspor Kulübü have submitted a formal offer to purchase VfB Stuttgart attacker “Silas” Katompa Mvumpa. The Bundesliga outfit have been openly shopping their former top prospect all summer, hoping to net approximately €8m for the Congo DR international. Silas enters the final year of his contract.
Sabuncuoğlu does not specify how much the Süper Lig club has offered to pay for the 26-year-old, who has recently suffered another injury setback. Stuttgart may be willing to accept significantly less for their returning loanee. Reports earlier this summer suggested that the Swabians will cut ties with Silas outright if a buyer cannot be found.
Rumors cropping up around potential buyers for Silas have often proved unfounded, but Sabuncuoğlu has earned something of a reputation this summer. The Turkish journalist (after literally dozens of false reports over the last few years) correctly reported Hoffenheim defender Attila Szalai’s loan out to Kasımpaşan earlier this month.
