Several top clubs have reportedly set their sights on Spanish-Nigerian striker Samu Omorodion Aghehowa, but a winter move appears increasingly unlikely. Despite swirling rumours of a potential January exit from FC Porto, recent reports suggest the young forward has little interest in a mid-season transfer.

According to TeamTalk, the 21-year-old is not pushing for a departure from Portugal. Clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal, Newcastle, and Aston Villa have allegedly been informed of his wish to remain with FC Porto at least until January 2026. The player possesses a hefty release clause of €80 million, a figure well known to his club.

Omorodion’s decision seems strategically motivated. With the World Cup on the horizon, the striker believes staying put will maximize his chances of securing a spot in the Spanish national squad. Since his arrival at Porto in August 2024, he has made a strong impression, scoring 12 goals and providing one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Tied to the club until June 2029, the rising star has a market value estimated at €50 million on Transfermarkt and earns an annual salary of €1.63 million. For now, his focus remains firmly on Porto and his international ambitions, cooling the prospect of any imminent transfer battle.
