Atletico Madrid’s transfer plans have taken a major hit with Samu Omorodion’s move to Chelsea rumoured to have collapsed.
In a sensational twist to the saga, the Spanish U21 international looked certain to move from the Spanish capital, but the situation now looks to have changed.
The two clubs had agreed a €40m fee to bring him to Stamford Bridge, which would bankroll incoming transfers, with Julian Alvarez in the verge of completing a €95m switch from Manchester City.
As per the latest update from Relevo, Omorodion’s move to Chelsea is hanging in the balance, after a series of late issues in negotiations.
Omorodion has travelled to London to complete his physical tests this weekend, but there is a concern over his injury record, with an issue reportedly flagged up in his medical.
The 20-year-old has now returned to Madrid, and if the issue cannot be resolved, he will remain, and Atletico Madrid may need to rethink certain transfer deals.
