Samuel Chukwueze reacts after his brace against Manchester City
After Fulham's spectacular 5-4 defeat to Manchester City, Samuel Chukwueze shared his thoughts.
Despite the disappointment, the Nigerian—who netted his first goals in England—praised his team's courage and determination in the second half:
It was a crazy match. We conceded goals we really shouldn't have, but I loved our team's spirit in fighting back. We created a lot of chances in the second half. It's tough to lose because we wanted a third straight win, but we gave everything until the final whistle.
Despite his brace, he remains clear-eyed about the importance of the result:
Scoring two goals feels great, but losing hurts. If we'd won, my goals would have meant even more. (...) I'm gradually finding my form again. The coach believes in me and my teammates really push me as well. That’s a real driving force to keep improving.
