According to Coluna Do Fla, Samuel Lino has been named the CBF’s Player of the Month for August in the Brasileirão.
The competition’s account on X, formerly Twitter, highlighted the Flamengo forward’s fine run of form, and the club posted its congratulations.
Lino said he was delighted to win the award for the first time and felt honoured, adding that it is pleasing to see his work valued in such an important competition. He joked he had added another shelf in his room for this year’s prizes.
Betano had already named Lino Flamengo’s best player for August across competitions, leaving him with two individual awards for the month.
In August he played four league matches, scored three goals and created six chances.
Across the 2026 Brasileirão he has 27 appearances, nine goals and seven assists. Advanced metrics also stand out, with 14 big chances created and an average of 1.8 key passes per match, plus 86% pass accuracy.
His influence has carried into recent knockout ties, featuring in the build-up to the opener in the 2-0 first-leg win at Independiente del Valle in Quito. Flamengo top the league on 57 points.
Flamengo face Del Valle again at the Maracanã on Thursday 17, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time, in the Libertadores quarter-finals. The match will be shown live on ESPN and streamed on Disney+.
