Samuel Lino named Player of the Month as Erick Pulgar wins Goal of the Month | OneFootball

Samuel Lino was voted Betano’s Player of the Month for August, with Erick Pulgar landing Goal of the Month. According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo supporters chose the pair in the fan-led awards.

Pulgar’s effort came in the 2-0 win over Vitória at the Maracanã on 9 August, in round 22 of the Brasileirão.

Lino thanked the fans for the honour, dedicated it to the squad and said the team had put together a strong run of wins this month.

Pulgar also expressed his gratitude and called it an important strike that helped secure the victory.

Lino has now reached 80 appearances for Flamengo, with 50 wins, 17 draws and 13 defeats, plus 18 goals and 21 assists. The number 16 featured in the club’s 2025 Libertadores and Brasileirão triumphs and the 2026 Campeonato Carioca.

In 2026, he has 43 games, 12 goals and 10 assists.

Pulgar’s goal was his sixth for Flamengo, and he has made 176 appearances with 111 wins, 39 draws and 26 defeats, as well as nine assists. He debuted on 28 August 2022 in a 1-0 victory over Botafogo in the Brasileirão.

Flamengo return on Thursday 17 to host Independiente del Valle in the Libertadores quarter-final second leg at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time.
