Looking to establish himself in the Brazil National Team, Samuel Lino highlighted the importance of his first goals for the Seleção in continuing to earn call-ups from Carlo Ancelotti. This Saturday (3), he scored two of the four goals in the 4-0 thrashing of India in Kolkata.

In an interview after the match, the forward pointed to the high-level competition on the left wing, the position where he is competing with Vinicius Jr, whom he described as “the best in the world,” as well as other players for the spot. Despite the difficult challenge, he stressed that he is confident in his qualities.

“I’m going back happy (to Flamengo), confident. I have to keep up my work at the club. I know the competition is very intense. We have a player who, in his position, is the best in the world, and there are other players like Rodrygo. The competition is very intense. But I believe in myself, I believe in my work. I’ll keep working at my club to always be here,” he said.

Besides Lino, Pedro and Estêvão completed the scoring. Pedro, in fact, also plays alongside Lino in Flamengo’s attack. The duo was decisive in Saturday’s victory.

“A great win for the National Team. I’m happy to have been able to help, and I’m also happy for Pedro’s goal. Knowing that two goals came from Flamengo players shows how well Flamengo is being represented. Happy with the win to wrap up these three matches well,” he concluded.
