Flamengo reached the Libertadores quarter-finals with a 2-1 win over Cruzeiro at the Maracanã, sealed by another Samuel Lino goal.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the winger now has nine goals and 10 assists in 39 appearances this year, edging towards a double-double. His best previous return came at Gil Vicente (POR) in 2021/22, with 14 goals and five assists across 38 games.

No team-mate has supplied more assists this season, and he also leads Flamengo for big chances created with 16. In overall goal involvements he trails only Pedro, 19 to 30.

On the night of qualification, the No 9 set up both goals against the Minas Gerais side. He has eight goal contributions in knockout matches this year, the most among all players in Série A.

The 2-1 result left Flamengo alone in second among Brazilian clubs for eliminating domestic rivals in the Libertadores, having sent nine teams home. Palmeiras have done so 12 times.

The Maracanã victory took Flamengo to 10 goals in four matches this year, all of them wins. In 2025, they scored only eight times in six outings.

With Pedro and Samuel Lino available, Flamengo visit Cruzeiro again in the Brasileirão, for the 24th round at the Mineirão. Kick-off is 20:30 Brasília time on Saturday 22.
