Bologna FC 1909 is pleased to announce the signing of forward Samuel Mbangula from SV Werder Bremen on loan until 30 June 2027, with an option to make the transfer permanent.

The seventh Belgian player in the Club’s history, Samuel Mbangula is an attacking winger born in 2004, capable of combining pace, technical ability and quality in one-on-one situations. Born in Brussels, he began his youth career at Club Brugge before moving to Anderlecht. In the summer of 2020, he joined the Juventus academy, where he completed an important part of his development, impressing at both Under-17 and Primavera level. With the latter, he made 57 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 5 assists, while also making seven appearances in the UEFA Youth League.

In the 2023/24 season, Mbangula made the step up to senior football with Juventus Next Gen, making 25 appearances as he continued his development. His performances earned him a permanent place in the first-team squad and, on 19 August 2024, he made his Serie A debut against Como, starting the match and scoring after just 23 minutes. During the 2024/25 season, he made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists, while also featuring in the UEFA Champions League.

In the summer of 2025, Mbangula joined Werder Bremen on a permanent transfer, beginning a new chapter in the Bundesliga. In his first season in Germany, he made 26 league appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists, further showcasing his attacking qualities and his ability to make an impact, particularly when operating from the left flank.

At international level, Mbangula has represented Belgium throughout the youth ranks, from Under-15 to Under-21 level, before receiving his first call-up to the senior national team in November 2024.
