San Lorenzo have announced the departure of Néstor "Pipo" Gorosito after the 1-0 defeat to Instituto de Córdoba, intensifying the club’s institutional crisis.
The board led by Marcelo Culotta did not share the coach’s optimism, even after he told reporters it had not crossed his mind to leave. Walter Perazzo will take the next training sessions.
The decision was communicated after a meeting between the football department and the coach before the 15:30 session at Ciudad Deportiva, which set out the next steps. Perazzo had already overseen some sessions prior to Gorosito’s arrival.
Gorosito had admitted the team’s main shortcoming was in attack, saying they lacked calm, clarity and precision at the end of moves to free the forwards in clear scoring positions.
The former Alianza Lima boss took only seven points in the league, two wins, one draw and four defeats, compounded by a penalties exit to Deportivo Riestra in Copa Argentina and a home loss to Huracán.
In 2026 the first team have already had three coaches. Damián Ayude was dismissed by Sergio Constantino’s interim leadership after a 5-2 defeat to Defensa y Justicia, then Gustavo Álvarez lasted 13 matches amid eliminations in the league and Copa Sudamericana within 10 days and differences with the current board. Gorosito returned after 22 years, a figure closely associated with the club.
