Aston Villa faced off against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result in the West Midlands derby. The Villans made a slow start to the game and were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Joao Gomes scored the opener for Wolves in the 61st minute before Rodrigo Gomes killed the game off in injury time. The match ended with Unai Emery’s men suffering a 2-0 defeat in the derby.

Cash was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CB: Ezri Konsa – 6.5/10
He made a few crucial interceptions at the back, but it was not enough tonight.

The Spaniard did his fair share of defending but failed to keep things solid inside his half.

LB: Lucas Digne – 6/10
Digne produced a disjointed performance at left-back.
CM: Douglas Luiz – 6.5/10
He caught the eye at times and made two decent chances on the offensive end of the pitch.
CM: Amadou Onana – 6/10
Onana put his foot through the ball when he could and was not shy of having a strike at goal.
RW: Emi Buendia – 5.5/10
He failed to get into the flow of the game and never looked like he would score.
CAM: Morgan Rogers – 6.5/10
Rogers caused some problems for the opposition defenders but failed to register a goal.
LW: Jadon Sancho – 6.5/10
He managed to shine at times on the left flank, but didn’t do enough to find the back of the net.
ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10
Watkins was quiet for most of his time on the field.
