Austria Wien have signed 27-year-old Danish forward Sandra Jakobsen from SK Sturm Graz, following her two-year spell there.
At 27, Jakosben has already enjoyed a varied career playing across the USA, Sweden, Denmark and Austria. She began her career in her native country of Denmark before moving to the USA. There, she focused on continuing her football and academic training. Following the completion of her training, she transferred to Swedish side Sunnanå SK in 2024.
After spending six months in the north, Jakosben moved on, making the switch to SK Sturm Graz in Austria. The attacking player spent a total of two seasons with the Black and Whites, where she quickly established herself as a regular starter. As a result, she played in a total of 50 matches for the side.
“Having followed Austria Vienna over the past two seasons and even had the opportunity to play against them several times, I believe this club is a perfect fit for me.” Jakosben said. “The league title, the Cup win, and the Champions League qualification this season demonstrates the club’s high ambitions. I’m proud to be a part of this development.”
Head coach Stefan Kenesei said “We are delighted that Sandra has chosen to join us. Over the past two years, she has been one of the key players in Sturm Graz’s attacking play. With her creativity, her flair for the game, and her goal-scoring threat, she has made her mark on the league and consistently made the difference. We are all the more pleased to welcome Sandra to our ranks and to take the next steps together.”
