Santiago Ascacibar gave Boca a fitness scare after the 1-1 draw at Unión in Santa Fe, departing with a muscle complaint. He is now a doubt to face Instituto de Córdoba.

LaNumer12.com.ar reports that the midfielder asked to come off five minutes into the second half at the Estadio 15 de Abril, with Claudio Úbeda sending on Ander Herrera. The performance pleased the coach, but dominance again did not become a win.

After the match, Úbeda said Ascacibar felt his hamstring and signalled from the pitch, which prompted the change.

Ascacibar will undergo tests in the coming hours to determine whether it is an injury or an overload. The squad have a day off, then return to training on Tuesday for Torneo Apertura 2026 preparations.
