Santos begin Cosmo Damião stand revamp at Vila Belmiro | OneFootball

Santos have begun refurbishing the Cosmo Damião stand at Vila Belmiro, creating two tiers to increase capacity. According to Diario Do Peixe, the low-cost work will be recouped through higher gate receipts, and the stand can be used once cleared by the Fire Department and Military Police.

Club president Marcelo Teixeira said the project would almost double capacity to nearly 6,000, increasing ticket availability. He added that matches would not be affected and that the board’s priority remains the New Arena project with WTorre.

He also outlined a later phase featuring hospitality boxes, a food court and shops. In parallel, a technical team is testing soil depth, resistance and layers to define the foundations for the planned boxes.

In January, the club reopened the Centro de Imprensa “Armando Gomes”, offering greater comfort, technology and modernity for media.

In April, the Portão 17 members’ section was adjusted to comply with Conmebol regulations.
