Santos celebrate Neymar World Cup call-up and hail return of their prince

Santos have celebrated Neymar's call-up by Brazil for the World Cup in June in the United States.

The club said in a post that they had always believed in him, hailing history in the making and the return of their prince. Santos re-signed him in February last year as part of a plan to bring him back to Brazil.

This will be his fourth successive World Cup, after missing 2010 but featuring in 2014, 2018 and 2022, and now 2026. He remains available for Santos until 26 May, with national team reporting due the next day.

He has not played for the national team since October 2023, after a serious knee injury and further minor issues kept him out of FIFA dates and friendlies.

Physically recovered and on a reasonable run of games for Santos, he has met Carlo Ancelotti's request to be in good shape to report to Brazil.
